Best ice cream in town! We love going downtown to grab dinner on one of Main Street's many restaurants and then head over to Yoder's for a sweet treat before the night is over. Our favorite flavors are their Espresso Chip, Pistachio, White Chocolate Raspberry and Coconut! We like that Yoder's serves ice cream for all kinds of tastes; sherbet, dairy free & sugar free ice cream, sorbets and regular ice cream!

Looking for a quick and affordable meal? Village Pizzas by Emma will not disappoint. You can choose from various different toppings when building your own pizza. The best part? These personal sized pizzas are less than $5! We usually visit Yoder's Fresh Market across the street while waiting for our pizzas - they sell freshly baked bread and pastries that are to die for. When fall season comes around, the pecan pie is our favorite. Pro tip: water is only offered by the bottle so BYOB(Water) if you do not want to pay for a plastic bottle of water.

This hidden Mexican taco gem is hidden inside the Texaco gas station. However, you will forget everything about the location when these tacos enter your mouth. Authentic Mexican tacos can be hard to find so this is our go to Taco Tuesday place whenever we are in town!

Sokkorito’s Taco Truck is located by the Shell gas station less than half a mile from the house (you won’t find it on Google Maps). This place serves authentic tacos, burritos, empanadas, tamales, horchata, etc. Our go to order is Al Pastor tacos & the mango smoothie (so refreshing after a long beach day!). This place can’t be found through Maps so just search for the Shell gas station!

Oscar Scherer State Park is located in Nokomi, a 20-min drive from the house is a great spot for a hike, picnic or camping. You might spot a gator or turtle if you're lucky. We prefer visiting in the morning before it gets too hot, but, if you prefer to sleep in there are plenty of shady benches and pathways within the park. Parking lot is usually not very full!
