Karydies cook a delicious “fried-beans” specialty and a great variety of goat meat, among other specialties of Greek-style ouzo finger food and main dishes. Simple but tasty and original. Best try it on your way back from Kipos after you have enjoyed a day's swim.

My favorite place, this tavern is located in the central square of Chora. The view is excellent, the people are kind and the food is very good. Try the pork stake and kolokythokeftedes and you will not be disappointed.

Excellent preparation of the local specialty goat meat! If you like meat, you will love this place. Aka the place of "Apostolis", the owner and experienced cook.

This is an assuming place where you can have simple but very tasty food. I recommend their classic omelet, french fries and Greek horiatiki salad as a typical Greek lunch, but go ahead and taste the rest of the catalog as well. The place closes at 21.00 so do not leave it for late in the evening.

This a very sweet little chapel located high in the mountain overseeing the Pachia Ammos beach. It is worth visiting to feel the local religious traditions. Nowadays, there is a small place to drink or eat something nearby. Beware the road leading to this place it is worse than the rest of them on the island.

Parks & Nature
A beautiful walk upstream the Fonias river will take you through amazing nature and up to small lakes formed by the waterfalls. Beware of extreme phenomena on rainy days and do not jump into the lakes from high up! It may be really dangerous. Also, always think of how you will go back from where you are daring to climb!

This is the highest mountain-top of the Aegean! It is where Poseidon sat to watch the war that was taking place in Troy! No wonder it is a very tough climb and one you should try only with professional help or with the organized mountain-climbing club.

This is the medieval citadel, built by the Gateluzzi family of Genoa during the late period of the Byzantine empire (12th century AD).
Partly restored, it dominates Chora and gives it its unique "couleur local" of a medieval town. The smaller fortresses that we see on the road that lays along the northern coast of the island were subordinate to this central stronghold.
Artfully lit, the citadel creates a beautiful atmosphere during summer nights.
