This is an extremely beautiful hike, but it is an advanced hike. The trail map states it is only 4.2 miles, but it is longer. We hiked it with three small children and it took 7 hours :) It is gorgeous and worth it!!

This is a great spot to swim and it is only about 10 minutes from the cabin! There is a great sandy beach.
It also is the trailhead for the Angel falls hike.

The Big South Fork is known for horseback riding. There are miles and miles of trails. The trail guides of Southeast Pack Trips have been on these trails for years. You can choose from an hour, two-hour, or even overnight trips. It is located just before True West Campground on the way to the Big South Fork entrance. They accommodate kids as well.

If you are in Jamestown, horses are a must, and this is a great way to enjoy them without riding. Laura, Ashley, and Joe are fantastic and will take you on an excellent carriage ride. The horses are beautiful!

Sunset Marina is about an hour's drive and a great place to rent boats on Dale Hollow Lake. The drive through Pall Mall is beautiful. Make sure to stop at Forbus General Store for some old-fashioned candy or fudge.

If you want to enjoy Dale Hallow without renting a boat this is a great spot! There are picnic tables, a little beach area, and even a boat launch. It is a good place to swim with kids. (It does not have a boundary area so floats/life jackets are recommended)

Rugby was supposed to be a cooperative, class-free farming community for younger sons of English gentry and others who wanted to start a fresh life in America. Twenty of the original buildings from this would-be utopia still exist today. The Schoolhouse Visitor Center houses displays about Rugby's history, as well as daily tours of some of the historic buildings.

Bad Cell Reception / Time Zone Boundary
There is very limited cell service when coming into the Big South Fork area. You will most likely need to use WIFI calling when at the cabin.
We are also just a few miles from the time zone boundary line and recommend setting your phone to manual mode to prevent it from automatically switching to the eastern time zone. Oneida is on eastern time and Jamestown is on central.
