I would highly recommend you hire a bike or a car to get around
Renting a car or a bike is definitely the best way to explore the island. Cars and bikes can be rented locally.

Comfortable shoes are very important as there is lots to explore. In the village of Xanthates you have the Local springs with fresh drinking water only a 5min walk.
Also you have the two Waterfalls at Nymfes(12min by car or 45min by foot) and Kiprianades(4mins by car and 25min by foot)
