Gin bar on the first floor overlooking the shopping mall / Knuckey street. They serve a great variety of drinks including "Darwin Gin" which of course has a crocodile on the label. There is a casual seating area and a more formal lounge area. Best to book if you are wanting to sit in the lounge area inside. Entry is via Austin Lane and there is a lift.

If you like live music, this is a great place to head to later in the evening particularly on a Friday and Saturday night. They've got great local bands and there's normally good vibes and quick service.

Uber is reliable and easy

If you don't have a car, I would recommend ordering an Uber through the Uber app. Generally speaking, a trip from the Apartment into town (ie Mitchell Street) or the Waterfront should be no more than $12 provided your not travelling at a peak time. If you are heading to Parap/Fannie Bay/Bayview - it will cost around $15. Heading to the airport is around $26.

Neuron Scooters and Bikes for the adventurous!

They are bright orange and you can't miss them. We've had them in Darwin for a few years and they are easy to access by setting up an account through the "neuron app". They come with helmets and for those that may be prone to mishaps I would recommend using one. There are 2 different areas they can go for each mode of transport. The bikes go further out of town than the scooters. The app will show you where exactly the perimeters are. If you like a few drinks then please be extra careful riding them! There are day, week and month passes you can purchase subject to how much you wish to ride.

Dress for the climate!

We are pretty laid back in the NT. Clothing like a suit and tie is pretty rare unless you are going to a ball or special event. We have a dress code known as "Territory Rig" which is essentially smart casual ie collared shirts, good jeans, nice boots. Otherwise thongs, bathers, runners, casual wear, sunscreen, hat, casual dress/shorts/shirt, going out dress/shirt and one pair of nice shoes is all you will probably need. It can get hot and you will likely get sweat patches, but just embrace it!
