Historical Fortification Museums Thermal Water Market/Pazar
You can visit Kos by Catamaran or Ferry (From Bodrum Cruise Port). The Thermal Springs of Kos Greece, Dodecanese: In the location of Agios Fokas, there is a sea-pool with hot springs, known as the thermes. The place is well known as one of the most outstanding places on Kos. In order to get there, it is necessary to go across the East beach and pass Psalidi cape, as well as Agios Fokas cape. In the case of Agios Fokas, its cape is a steep arm coming from a 75 height from the sea level hill. In that location, there used to be also a small church dedicated to Agios Fokas, which dated around the Byzantine period, and at approximately 3 km away from there, the thermes are currently organized as a true summer resort. In the case of Kos thermal baths, they are placed at the end of a 250 meter-long pebbled beach, surrounded by a rock pool. In this pool, hot water is usually ranging between 42oC and 50oC. When it mixes with the water coming from the sea, it produces a nice warm bath. According to what some locals advice, the best part of the pool to start with is the one at the back left, where the water is not so warm. Then, one can gradually move towards hotter waters. The warmest spring comes from a fissured rock, placed on the right side of a shore. It is advisable for tourists to remember that the pool has a considerable size, so the temperature can vary a lot depending from their location. However, anywhere of the pool will always be warmer than in the sea. Referring to its properties, the thermes of Kos have been tested in order to establish if they are curative apart from being pleasant. According to studies, those waters have healing features for skin ailments cases. 🇹🇷 Kos adasında sıcak termal kaplıcalar bulunmakta. Schengen vizesi gereklidir.

Day trip to Pamukkale/Cotton Castle (from Bodrum). This magical wonder of the world will leave you speechless with it's spectacular landscape, named the 'cotton castle' for it's appearance. The numerous cotton white plateaus have been formed by calcium rich waters layering mineral deposits for millennia. The thermal pools in Pamukkale are thought to be healing. Within Pamukkale is Cleopatra's Pool which you can swim in; a roman built pool with original columns still standing. 🇹🇷 Pamukkale, kaynak sulardan ve traverten teraslı tepelerden meydana geliyor. Bin yıldır kaplıca hizmet veren doğa şaheserinin terasları, kaplıca suyundan çökelmiş karbonat minerallerinden oluşuyor.

Bodrum Market or Bazaar Open markets are common in Turkish shopping traditions and it’s called “Pazar”. Bazaars’ has an authentic atmosphere formed by various scents, colours and voices. Origin of Bazaar stretches back to Persian civilization, they are everywhere in the world but they are an important part of the culture in Middle East and Asia. Markets in big cities are getting rare as a result of increasing number of national supermarket chains, people in smaller cities and towns are still shopping in bazaars for their kitchen needs. It’s about 33 minutes from central Bodrum by car (22 km). You can also take dolmuş to go there (mini bus, pronounced as DOL-moosh).

Rabbit Island is next to the village of Gumusluk in Bodrum. The island is accessed by a partially submerged causeway that was constructed by King Mausolus of Halicarnassos during the Hellenistic era to enable himself and his beloved wife Artemisa to visit the island to watch the unique and beautiful sunsets and to feed the rabbits that lived there. . Today the island is closed to public, to protect some recent architectural finds. The island is currently being excavated. Archeologists discovered a huge ancient theatre. However you can still walk upon the sunken ancient city walls of Myndos to reach Rabbit Island, then walk back to the mainland. The causeway has sunk as a result of earthquake. The walk way is knee level deep, about 150 meters long, 1,5 km wide. There are two way to get to the island; first one is called Kings Road (wear shoes as the rocks are bit slippery and sharp), the second way to the island is shorter and much easier to walk. . .

Mausoleum of Halicarnassus: One of the seven wonders of ancient world. Tomb of Mausolus was built between 353 and 350 BC. The project was conceived by his wife (also his sister) Artemisia. The height of tomb was approximately 42 m (138 ft). Nowadays there is not so much left to see from the Mausoleum. In 1857 some fragments were smuggled to British Museum. However, its still worth a visit with its beautiful area, garden and landscape. The museum is in central Bodrum, short walking distance from the central yacht area. Entry Fee is 12tl. Opening times: 8am - 5pm (closed on Mondays). . .

Beautiful coastal walk to Adabogazi From Bitez Marina: If you like hiking and want to have a day away from crowd. I recommend you to go for a coastal walk. The walk to Adabogazi starts from end of Bitez marina. You’ll see a pathway. Just follow the coastline and you won't get lost. It’s a beautiful walkway. You’ll see stunning views, small secluded bays on the way. There should be about six of them. My favourite is the last one (aquarium bay). They are sandy and crystal clear. If you continue walking, you’ll walk towards a hill and see beautiful landscape and a white domed water cistern. It takes about 1 hour to walk there from Bitez marina. Make sure you wear appropriate shoes, and take drinking water and swimsuit with you. There’s no cafe/restaurants there. Light picnic bag is recommended. It’s a bit rough path, not really suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. AND MAKE SURE YOU RETURN BACK BEFORE IT GETS DARK. There’s no lights on the way. It gets pitch black.

Saint Nicholas Church (Aya nikola Kilisesi) ⛪️ The Greek Orthodox church of St. Nicholas was built nearly 300 years ago. It is traditionally a dedication to St. Nicholas, who was deemed as the protective saint of the Greek fishermen diving for collecting sponges, and cruising in the stormy seas. In the course of time, the building was almost completely destroyed, and then was restored to be used again. It was once used as a sponge storage, later as a cinema, and then it was used as a public education center. Lately, during the tourist season, it was used as gallery and to sell souvenirs and gifts. Currently, the building is being restored again, to be used as a church with its original outlook. ⛪️ 🤗 .
