Go there either by car/bus or by the many ferries and boat trips. Make you way to the Grotto by the 650 steps or take it easy and go there by boat. The grottos are amazing and well worth the money to get in.

About an hour's drive along a stunning winding coastal road is Bosa, It has a different vibe than Alghero, a little bit more old fashioned. Spend an afternoon on the river bank and feast your eyes on the traditional Sardinian streets and architecture.
