Lovely lake for the bird lover. This is a breeding and migratory area. Lots of deer and wild horses, as well. There is hiking in this area.

Great hiking for every skill level. You are hiking on the backside of Mt Rose also known as ‘slide mountain’. Trails take you to high alpine lakes if you are up for the climb. Ultimately takes you all the way to connect with Tahoe Rim Trail. Great views. You hike along Ophir Creek and there is plenty of tree cover.
