Zaros, a mountainous small town with about 2,000 inhabitants. If we still have some time to recoil and small folklore museum of Zaros.
After Zaro the road continues, so at 5 km. We stop at the Monastery Vrontisiou and from there a little above, another 6 km., We reach the village of Kamares, where we can (with climbing 1 hours, as the 1500 m.) to visit the cave Kamares.
Back in Zaros. From there, follow the signs, first we go through the traditional watermill Votomos and then easily approach the lake Zaros which will hear and Votomos lake, a name that has the most important of its sources. These sources also give us bottled Zaros and Rouvas waters and soft drinks Miracle, famous in Crete. The lake is artificial and shallow and the altitude is 450 m. In the peaceful green waters swim lazily several ducks and abundant trout. Above us hang the rocky slopes of Mount Ida (also known as Ida), which is the tallest in Crete reaches 2,456 m.

Inside, and around the village there are excavated parts of the ancient city, Roman remains, Venetian buildings with magnificent doorways and Byzantine churches. The construction ratio was not aesthetic but the water supply in the city of Heraklion. The water coming from the mountain Zeus in Archanes with a 15 km aqueduct that reached in Heraklion.
