Refined Mexian and southwestern fare. I think they've done away with the Sunset Menu, which is unfortunate because it was just a delicious bargain! Go!

If he's made the Apricot Bars, try to buy the entire sheet if you can. (yes, the entire jelly roll pan. you can refrigerate!) My favorites for breakfast are the Mic Mic sandwich, the Breakfast Sandwich (with some amazing cross between a tortilla, Nan bread and bread), and the Lisa Bowl. The Iced Salted Caramel Lattes are the best. Oh, and the ice cubes used in the ice coffees? Yeah, they're made outta coffee! No dilution of your beverage for you

Everything is wonderful. There's also a small bar area inside, plus a larger bar, often with live music, outside. Tasty Greek treats plus others. The burgers are great, as is the Steak Diane.

A little further the other direction (north) is Caladesi Island State Park. You may need reservations for the short boat ride to it, but that boat ride is one of the things I like. Just the thing to cool you down a bit. And it is very native there, with only one building I believe. So you can really get away from the crowds...

There are several beaches here. If you would like to go spend a little extra time, Fort DeSoto is quite nice and there are bike paths there and bike rentals too. My favorite beach there used to be North Beach, but a year or so ago they cut down all the Australian pines because they weren't native. The pines were one of the unique things about the beach. But I understand people get these ideas in their heads, and they removed them. And left the stumps!?! But it is still a nice place, plus there's a fort, beach grills/snack bars, etc
