Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Rosie's Studio

Rosie's Studio is a very special place decorated with original paintings by the late Salt Spring Island artist - Rosemaria Behncke. This large, unique cottage/studio is situated on a 25 acre farm in the peaceful south end of beautiful Saltspring Island, close to parks, beaches, Fulford Shops and the Ferry Terminal. Relax in this quiet pastoral setting and enjoy the sweep of the ocean out to volcanic Mount Baker. We welcome families with children and pets. Update: Emily the duck has passed.

Bluebell's Garden Suite

Private, sunny 400 sq ft. garden suite. This well-appointed suite has a cozy living room with wood burning stove, kitchenette, separate bedroom with queen-sized bed and a bathroom with a luxurious claw foot tub and shower. The suite has its own entrance, an outdoor seating area within a private, fenced garden full of fruit trees, perennials and hummingbirds. exclusive use include a washer/dryer. Sat on a bluff by St Mary's Lake and protected by cedar trees, this calm and cozy cottage is the ideal getaway for couples and families seeking rest, relaxation and adventure in the serene setting of Salt Spring's North End. Guests have the benefit of a large deck and private drive off a peaceful residential road within short walking distance (0.5km) of the lake and a short drive from Ganges town centre, Fernwood Beach with pier & cafe and Mount Erskine Provincial Park.

Our individual log chalets are nestled in between towering cedar and Douglas fir trees. A quick 2 minute walk through the forest path leads you to the beach at St. Mary's Lake. Swim, fish, canoe, kayak, and paddle board. Play ping pong or badminton, or just relax and enjoy your wood burning stoves!
