Totally renovated and remodeled, our perfect Silver Lake bungalow retains lots of it's original 1922 charm. It has an open floor plan with wood flooring, recessed LED lighting, and Central AC/heating throughout. The full kitchen has brand new stainless steel appliances. GE gas range with oven and broiler. Microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. Plenty of counter space to prep your favorite meal. The bathroom is super swank with a large free standing tub and waterfall shower. Luxury. Please note the bathtub is VERY big. If you have any sort of mobility issue, message us before booking. The living/dining area has been decorated with a nod to mid-century California bungalow design. It has a wall mounted Sony flat screen TV, Bose stereo, and 5G WIFI to stream the AppleTV. It's a great space to lounge and enjoy meals and entertainment. The spacious master bedroom has an Organic King mattress and a 4 door walk-in closet with floor to ceiling mirrors. It gets lots of light during the day and has a blackout curtain over the headboard for when you need extra sleep. The 2nd bedroom is smaller than the master, but has plenty of space for a comfortable queen sized bed. It has a desk (for when it is time to get down to work). It's also appointed with a walk-in closet. The big backyard has both an avocado and orange tree. It is landscaped with native, drought resistant plants. With a lighted outdoor dining area, it's the perfect place to enjoy an outdoor meal and drink, or just lounge in the California sun. You have access to the entire home. Including the driveway, front porch and back yard. Please note that the driveway is narrow, so only sedans and compact SUVs will fit. Send a text or message via the site for a quick response. The house is right in the middle of the Sunset Junction and Virgil Village neighborhoods of Silver Lake. It is one of the most vibrant, diverse and walkable locations in all of Los Angeles. For people who travel without cars, the Redline Metro stop is a short 5-10 minute walk from the property. It boasts quick access to Griffith Park, Hollywood, bars and nightlife, as well as countless dining and shopping options. There is close, convenient access to the Metro Red Line subway. You will be just a short ride to Hollywood Proper, Downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica Beach and the entire city of Los Angeles. For drivers, we are near to the 101 Hollywood Freeway, making it a great stop on your California road trip. Free tandem parking for two cars is included. The house is filled with artwork from LA artists, to bring a little of the LA streets to the comforts of Burbank. This house has been designed to enjoy the natural landscape. Most walls can slide open to have an indoor/outdoor feel. The house has black out drapes for privacy. The entire property is available for this rental. We ask that all guests be careful walking around the property as cactus are numerous. Please leave no trace on the grounds and respect the desert and the wildlife. I am available to answer any questions that you have. The property is in an area that resembles being inside the park. Your retreat begins as you leave paved roads onto desert roads composed of decomposed granite (DG) to get to the property. The house guide provides an overview of day hikes in the park. Please ask for any recommendations if you are interested in hiring a private chef to cook a high desert inspired meal, yoga instructor to teach a class or massage therapist to visit the property during your stay. A vehicle is necessary to get around the area. The home comes complete with Waterworks fixtures, Ann Sacks tile, and locally sourced items and furniture. Art by Jim Olarte. Not formally trained in Architecture, Andrew designed the exterior and interior for Boulder2Sky. Mark's family helped in building items such as the fire pit, the gate and some beds. Solar panels are used to help reduce carbon footprint.

Studio by the Beach with Separate Entrance

Open the sliding door to let the gentle sea breezes waft in and settle down to stream a favorite show on the Smart TV. The interior blends coastal touches with boho chic, and there are little luxuries like a work space and secluded private outdoor space. I adhere to the CDC cleaning protocols. I use UV C light for added disinfecting and sanitizing of the Studio, and have also added a Dyson air purifying fan and heater to insure you have clean air. This studio is located on the first floor of my three story home. The studio shares the first floor with the garage so you don't have any shared walls. You have two windows, one in the bathroom and a sliding glass door in the bedroom, they bring in light and the sea breeze but have no views. While this studio is private you may hear footsteps above, music drifting in from other parts of the house, and the sounds that come from everyday living. You'll have one parking space available on the right side of the driveway. More free parking is usually available at the end of the street, 15 houses down on panama. During the day there's extra parking at kiddie beach. I live on the two top floors of the house so i'm easily accessible for as much or as little interaction as needed. The setting on a quiet street is only half a block from channel Island harbors Kiddie Beach and 1.5 blocks to Silver Strand Beach, a popular surf spot and vantage point for catching the sunset. Watch for whales and discover a yoga studio, corner market, and salon, all only moments away. Hollywood by the sea has unique sounds too. You'll hear sea lions, boat horns, and on occasion a fog horn. Every morning at 8am you'll hear our national anthem, and at sunset you'll hear taps. You'll have to pay attention or you'll miss it. It's one of many thing I love about this area.

1924 Spanish Retreat in the Hollywood Hills

We are more than happy to interact with guests, but also respect that some guests may want to keep to themselves. Walk to Hollywood, Beachwood Canyon, or Franklin Village. Uber or Lyft comes in seconds and takes minutes to Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Echo Park, and West Hollywood. Griffith Park is minutes from the house. Walk to the Hollywood and Vine Metro Red Line Station, The Flyaway bus from LAX drops you off at Hollywood and Argyle just 5 blocks away. It is only 8 dollars. Uber and Lyft cars are everywhere Not Handicap Accessible - we are up two flights of outdoor stairs to enter the house, and bedrooms are up another flight of stairs. This house is not child-proofed so not suitable for children, there are floor to ceiling windows with no child guards.We do have a lovely doodle named Theodore. He is hypoallergenic and does not shed. He is kept in a separate yard and you won't be interacting with him unless you would like to of course!
