Cottage at Bear Den is our “home” of choice when visiting Hillsville. It’s so cozy and welcoming with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the deer grazing in the back yard and were visited by some turkeys. And did I mention the comfortable beds and linens!

This little house in the mountains was just perfect for our stop from Ohio to South Carolina. The views were spectacular and the inside was so cozy and charming. Rebecca was great with communication and sent us so many ideas and activities to check out in the surrounding areas. We’ll definitely be staying again in the future!

Great stay. Beds were super comfortable, the location was great and the living room and kitchen table were a great place to hang out. We enjoyed having meals on the back deck, under the massive umbrella. One note about the kitchen… we did have to run out and buy a pan that could be cooked in because the provided pans were deeply scratched teflon and very worn. We had to run out a second time to buy disposable aluminum pans to make a casserole, as there wasn’t anything at all that could go in the oven. Those are minor but want to warn others to bring a couple of supplies with them if they will be cooking. Also, the road noise is LOUD. It didn’t really bother us, as we are a used to it but just be prepared, if you don’t like noise. All in all, we loved our stay and would definitely come back!

The home and property completely met my expectations. We wanted to immerse ourselves in the lifestyle and history of old place and it did that in spades. We felt at home and slept great!

We had a lovely weekend in Damascus with family! The house was situated on the edge of town but easily within walking distance of restaurants, the park, and bike rentals for the creeper trail. It was quiet and lovely, and we loved being right by the Appalachian Trail. The house was as described, clean, and sweetly decorated. The only unexpected challenge was realizing that one of the two bathrooms was only accessible through a bedroom, which might be good for couples to know about, but overall we absolutely loved it. Hosts were proactive in communication and easy to work with. Hoping we can come back again!

Now that things have settled down I can give my review. I will start by saying I’ve never used Airbnb before and using it for me was nerve wrecking. But for Christy and David they’ve done this a few times. Immediately when I arrived they checked on me and made sure I had everything I needed. The internet went down and within minutes Christy was able to bring it back up and fix it. All in all this stay was beyond perfect. The place was gorgeous the hosts were amazing. Anytime I’m out this way I will always pick almost, almost heaven

We enjoyed the time at this location. Was very clean and nice. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We were able to really rest and relax on porch in the evenings after a day of adventure. Overall great place and great time

We loved our stay at Molly’s very well decorated cute cabin! The location is very close to town (2min to the restaurants). We stayed in the cabin or backyard so the road noise was never a problem. Every bedroom had a TV with streaming, we all enjoyed the hot tub, my wife enjoyed the peaceful back porch to read, I fished and my kids played in the river. My 8 year old daughter cried when we pulled out of the driveway to go home. Highly recommended!

Very nice place to stay. Beautiful view. Deer right out the back door. Quick responses. The house was big enough for 9 of us to stay comfortably.

Park Place was exactly what I needed--a reasonably priced, pet friendly place near the VA NC border. It was not far off the Interstate and was easy to find. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed and more (snacks, toiletries). It was also very quiet--no Interstate traffic noise. I drive to NC via this route often and will stay here again.

Great, clean place with lots of space and comfortable beds. I had a lot of fun making cappuccinos for my family in the mornings with the espresso machine. Definitely the best price in the area for my needs! My family had a lovely time exploring the nearby area and Johana’s instructions for getting in the home and using the espresso machine were really clear and helpful.

The home was much more than I expected. My host was super.

Brooke was quick to respond, easy check in . We booked last minute with no issues. Sam the property manager was great with suggestions for places to visit. This cabin is warm and cozy, perfect for a weekend getaway. Highly recommend staying here.

Excelente lugar, acogedora, llena de lindos detalles. Sumamente hermoso. Tiene de todo lo necesario para pasar una estadia relajante y alejada del bullicio de la ciudad. Super equipada. Claudia fue super amable y nos dio buenas recomendaciones. Inclusive estuvo dispuesta ha resolvernos una situación el mismo 31 de diciembre. Se mantuvo atenta de nosotros y contestontodas nuestras dudas auper rapido. Hasta nos dejo detalles de bienvenida (botella de vino local, muy bueno). El pueblo en los alrededores Sparta, a 18 minutos de la cabaña, no tiene mucho para hacer. Pero cumplimos nuestro propósito de ver nieve en el lugar que Claudia nos recomendo, aunque era como a hora y media de la cabaña.

We absolutely LOVED staying in Tammy and Tim’s tiny home! They were so willing to show us around their farm and feed their animals. I recommend this stay to anyone looking for a private, peaceful home with the kindest hosts. Plus, it didn’t hurt that all the animals were so wonderful and sweet (shoutout Ferd, Walker, Chief, Annie, and Tucker the cat!) I can’t wait to return to Abingdon and hopefully stay in their tiny home again❤️

The house was lovely and exactly as described, we had a great stay. Aundrea was very kind and responsive in messages.

We loved our stay at the cabin. It was squeaky clean, charmingly decorated, and comfortable. We had everything we needed, even wood for the fire pit and chairs to put by the fire. Our puppy also had a great time playing in the large meadow by the creek. We hope to come back soon.

We had a very peaceful stay! The house was very nice and clean. I loved the screened in porch with the view! The jacuzzi tub was a plus as well. We will be returning in the future!

Such a quaint and cozy little cabin in peaceful surroundings. We stayed a few days in Marilyn's cabin and were very comfortable. It was super nice and relaxing to just sit outside in the mornings with coffee and a book while enjoying the plethora of surrounding bird songs. Marilyn was super friendly and responsive and we felt very much at home in the cabin.

Loved the way the home was decorated. Home was close to everything we needed. Hosts were very kind and friendly. You cant go wrong stay here!! Just do it!!

We had an excellent time at this place. The cabin is extremely private and quiet and our pups had a wonderful time.

We absolutely loved our time at Alvin & Kristi’s campsite on New River! Both hosts were incredibly friendly, warm, & welcoming. Other campers were kindred spirits as well and the property is wonderful! Thank you for a great experience! We’ll certainly be back!

Beautiful view !! Comfortable bed. Hot tub a big plus ! Jim was very helpful and had great recommendations for local hikes. I could literally see the snow moving in across the mountain. It was the perfect spot !

Really nice apartment style rental. The pictures don’t do it justice. The pool table was awesome. The bed was very comfortable. Spacious and homey. We will be back!
