The most accessible part of the North York Moors National Park from Scarborough is Dalby Forest. This has wonderful walking and cycling trails, picnic areas, children’s play areas and a ‘Go Ape’ centre. Most of these are located around the Visitor’s Centre at Low Dalby near Pickering but do explore the parts of the forest off the A171 to Whitby too. The villages and trails on the Eastern side of the forest are wonderful with some nice country pubs in places like Cloughton and Burniston.
