Mount Shosha is a temple complex with a history of more than 1000 years. It is located at the edge of Himeji City, and can be accessed from the city by bus and ropeway. Due to the preservation of its surrounding and absence of modern infrastructure, Mount Shosha is often used to film for historical movies and TV dramas. One of the Hollywood movie "The Last Samurai" was also partially shot here, around and in the halls of Mitsunodo.
