If you take the train to the neat little town of Kirkwood, you could rent a car. We are about an hour away.

Amtrak arrives here and you could take a train ride to the quaint German town of Hermann with a few wineries and beer gardens or Washington, MO for dining and views overlooking the river.

I am sorry to say- I am not a fan of the food. But they do have live music pool tables, and a great fun atmosphere.
