One of the spots where the bohemian intellectuals used to hang out in the 1960s. Open 20 hs a day, great anytime but especially at night, to have a beer before going out or a nightcap. A must go spot

This is a great hangout for the younger crowd. This whole section of Rio is a great spot for nightlife. Don't get a table indoors, the fun part here is to drink standing on the street and walk from bar to bar having a 'chop' (pronounced show-pee) at each 'boteco.' Botecos don't have curfews, so don't be surprised if you see the sun coming up when the bar is still crowded.
