You’ll also be only a short walk from the iconic Fremantle Markets and the Rottnest Island ferry terminal. The downstairs bedroom can be made into 2 king singles or 1 luxurious king. With no WI-FI this retreat offers a genuine chance to slow down, switch off, and reconnect with nature. The retreat is located 50 minutes from Perth Airport. We live in the adjoining house on the property, so help is nearby if needed, while your accommodation remains private and self-contained. There is still 5G reception available at the suite.

Umatah means "you matter". Umatah to us, Umatah to yourself, Umatah to those around you and Umatah to the environment. Umatah is part of the original State Brick Works that was closed down in the 1940’s after their excavations hit an underground spring. The property runs on organic principles and has a mango orchard, apiary, vegetable wicking beds plus various other fruit and nut trees. There is a large waterhole, landscaped gardens and endless native bushland.

It best suits those with their own transport. Public transport is a short walk away for access to Perth and Kalamunda and a supermarket is a ten minute walk away.

Carol’s Cottage

Get cosy and settle into this rustic space. This little cottage is fully self contained. It is embedded into our garden with access through the back. There is a coded walk through gate and you can park within the property. You just have to open and close the gates manually. There is a fully operational pool which can be used by all guests as well as owners. The photographs show the beauty of the cottage.
