An ideal place to relax or to be adventurous. We are located perfectly to give you great access to the beautiful, unspoilt fells, lakes, rivers, tarns and coastline the area has to offer. We are a perfect place to stay to climb Scafell Pike. We have designed and equipped No.2 Roseville be like a home from home.

Yewbarrow is a single-storey cottage, ideally located for walking, cycling, sight-seeing or simply relaxing. Situated in the National Park and surrounded by fells such as Scafell Pike and Great Gable, Yewbarrow is in the heart of walking and climbing countryside. The cottage is close to the Cumbrian Coast with St Bees’ long sandy beach and RSPB nature reserve, the historic town of Whitehaven, Muncaster Castle and Ravenglass, with its narrow gauge steam railway which travels to Boot.

A 2 bedroom holiday cottage located on a working farm near Boot in the Lake District. Gorgeous views over Harter Fell and less than a 10 minute walk to a pub! Downstairs there is an open plan kitchen/diner/ living room, bathroom with shower. Upstairs is the main bedroom with a king bed and twin room with 2 single beds. Nestling in the quaint village of Gosforth; with a mixture of mountains, lakes and coastal beaches all within a short drive in a less touristy but equally stunning part of the Lake District National Park. With numerous tourist attractions nearby, you're spoiled for choice. Pet friendly country pubs, café and bakery all within walking distance.

Yewbarrow - Shepherd's hut overlooking Wastwater

One of two traditional wooden shepherd's huts situated at the top of the beautiful Wasdale valley on a working Lakeland hill farm. Both huts have spectacular lake views over Wastwater and the surrounding fells and are the perfect bases for outdoor activities. Each hut comes complete with its own bathroom with shower, kitchen area and outdoor seating with BBQ. The shepherd's huts are brand new for summer 2022 and are currently being built from scratch here on the farm.

Granted UNESCO World Heritage Status in 2017, this area makes an ideal base for touring NW Cumbria, cycling, hiking fells & round lakes, climbing, canoeing, an en-route stopover for the Coast to Coast Cycle Route or a peaceful, romantic location for a countryside retreat.

Relax at this peaceful place to stay in the Western Lake District. There are plenty of lovely walks from the doorstep. The King George pub is only a minute walk away, serving lovely home cooked food and real ale. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, known locally as “La’al Ratty” is only a ten minute walk from the cottage. Eskdale Stores is open daily. The cottage itself has been recently renovated and has a secure garden with lovely views, ideal dogs.

We are a stones throw from the stunning Wasdale Valley with Wastwater being named Britains best view and also home to Englands highest mountain- Scafell Pike. Perfect for couples or a family with 2 children under 13. Maximum 2 adults. As we are a working farm there will be animals and working machinery around the farm.
