“The Burrow” is a self-contained cottage on a 100 acre wildlife sanctuary just 5km from the centre of Mittagong. Once you arrive, it's just you and a few hundred kangaroos and a wombat or two. We invite you to take in nature at your own pace in this peaceful & private setting. “The Burrow” is a hand-built, mud-brick cottage set on the Southern Highlands of NSW. It's quirky yet very comfortable. With nature & wildlife all around we want you to feel like you're 1000 miles from anywhere.

Alfred Studio

Our studio is a short walk to Mittagong town centre, situated in the picturesque Southern Highlands. Explore the wide selection of cafes and restaurants. Local shopping includes vintage clothing, antiques, arts and craft. Enjoy a walk to Lake Alexandra or along one of the many bush tracks. Alternatively, jump in the car and visit Bowral, Berrima and the other surrounding towns and villages. You’ll love our place because it is homely, separated from our house, and has a comfy bed.

This cottage is nestled in a breathtaking 2.5 acre established garden. It is perfect for couples wanting to retreat from the world or it is close to Bowral and surrounding attractions including golf clubs and vineyards. This is a comfortable self-contained studio, formerly an actual artist's studio, underneath the main residence, with its own shower and toilet, as well as a kitchenette. It has a queen bed, a king single that doubles as a sofa, and a single trundle bed. It has a small dining table and four chairs. It now boasts a camping washing machine for light loads, and an airer, as well as a dehumidifier. I also added an air fryer!
