Only an hour from Auckland’s north shore, the seven acre property comprises of two separate residences - the farmhouse and the cabin, each with its own separate driveway and amenities.

The Store | Matakana

Sept 25 | The store has just had some upgrades to make your stay more comfortable while still in keeping with an upcycled rustic shed on a rural property 3km from Matakana - ply interior, concrete floors covered with jute rugs and kilims, and a covered outdoor space to relax and bbq. A rustic country theme which will not suit guests wanting new and modern. Our linen bedding, hand loomed cotton towels, handmade ceramics and Real World products add some luxury. We have Starlink to enjoy Netflix

Nikau Cottage, Te Arai, Northland

Nikau Cottage is nestled amid six acres of stunning native NZ bush yet close to beautiful beaches, golf course and Mangawhai Village, just 5 minutes away. Peace and tranquility, the cosiness, the pure rainwater filled hot tub - Our boutique eco cottage is ideally suitable for couples only. A perfect retreat and the perfect stopover to, or from, the Bay of Islands capturing the essence of a New Zealand experience. This modern guesthouse with a 5 metre stud has a large mezzanine bedroom with a super king bed and two singles, open plan living/dining/kitchen area with extensive decks and concrete floors throughout. Five minutes from motorway, 30 minutes from Harbour bridge.

A great base to explore this incredible area and then relax after a busy day of hiking, beaching & enjoying the local hospitality.

We are 15 mins drive on sealed roads to amenities in both Mangawhai and Wellsford, 8 mins to the Te Arai surf beach turnoff and 12 minutes to the Te Arai Links course.

Cabin with beautiful views

Take a break and enjoy the peace and beauty of the Waipu hills. The cabin is located well away from the main house with it's own carport. It has a kitchenette with fridge, hotplates, microwave and a small oven . The spacious deck is prefect for outdoor dining. Relax and enjoy the rural views or head out and explore the area. Waipu township just 10 mins away. Waipu Cove and Uretiti beaches 15-20 mins. Waipu Caves and Piroa Fall are definitely worth a visit too.

We are only 75mins drive north of Auckland, 10 mins off the number one highway. The cottage is built from beautiful untreated hardwoods set in a tranquil private spot, nestled on the edge of a regenerating native forest. The cottage is only a 2min walk down to the beautiful Kaipara Harbour. Our place is part of a 25 year old 300 acre organic permaculture farm, which we were instrumental in setting up as a working farm and village style subdivision.
