Welcome to Longforde, a very special, charming and beautifully furnished cottage attached to our main home but completely independent with your own access and landscaped to ensure your absolute privacy. Set on 4 acres of stunning gardens, each room has private rural views of the countryside and Tararua ranges. We are located at the end of one of Greytowns most beautiful streets, a walkable 2km into the shops and cafes. As well, we are on a popular walking and biking route to the Waiohine river.

Relax on the window seat with views over farmland in this charming vintage cottage. The deck is a sunny peaceful spot for morning coffee and, at night, for taking in the stars of the internationally renowned Wairarapa Dark Sky. The plumpy fireside sofa is perfect for sinking into with a glass of wine. The Gatehouse is only six minutes drive from Martinborough and 11 minutes to Greytown. It has two bedrooms with queen beds, a kitchen/dining space and bathroom with high pressure shower.

White shed, modern rustic

Our rural shed is a spacious self-contained getaway with sun and views of the surrounding countryside. It is best suited for 2 guests, but can accomodate 4, with a queen size bed upstairs and a fold-out sofa in the living room. A fold out bed is available for children. We stock the kitchenette with free range eggs, locally made bread, homemade jam, butter, milk, tea and coffee. There’s a BBQ available. We’re 5 minutes walk to the Carterton shops and near the railway station.

The Gatehouse on 26Rows Vineyard is a luxury holiday cottage situated on 26 Rows Vineyard. The Gatehouse is a well appointed with open plan living, designed with quality and elegance. A complimentary bottle of 26Rows Sauvignon Blanc is provided to enjoy on the deck to enjoy the vista of the vineyard . The modern kitchen/dining area is fully equipped for self catering, with generous provision for a continental breakfast, with an open plan lounge. 2 bikes are available, to use.

Hidden Valley Getaway

Hidden Valley Homestay, more commonly known as "The Winery", was once a working vineyard/ winery, known as the Hidden Valley Vineyard. The winery building was built in 1999 out of strawbales. Current owners, and your hosts, Bridget and Jono Hartnell (who live onsite) have recently converted this characteristic building into a fully functional, modern and charming house. Spacious in size, this nearly 200 square metre house is the perfect getaway for family and friend groups.

Only a two minute walk to get your daily exercise along the beautiful rail trail which will lead you to the local railway station walking along the old railway route. A very small studio located a minutes walk to Greytown supermarket, cafes, restaurants and boutique shopping. Steeped in early Aotearoa, NewZealand history, Greytown was one of the earliest towns in NZ to be settled. Magnificent stands of old trees, and beautiful gardens, Greytown is the character town of the Wairarapa and beyond. Within seven minutes you can be at Woodside railway station making access to Wellington easy as you can leave your vehicle for the return.
