ATT, Verizon, etc. Clothing, shoes, repair shops, pharmacy, banks, restaurants, cinema, bowling, fitness, etc. All the big box stores. Not all are in the mall. There are blocks of businesses stretching south of the mall itself. Costco and Home Depot are at the far south side. Seattle Chocolates is near there too, with their tasting and sales room. Yummmmm!

Wally's has great fish and chips: light breading and NOT greasy. One piece is enough for most appetites but it's AYCE Cod and Chips on Mondays. Many other fresh seafood favorites too. View of the Sound if you can take your eyes off your plate. You may have a short wait.

It's a park, a hiking trail, a beach, a botanical garden. Founding Fathers set aside this land long before any of us were born to preserve acres of beauty for generations of residents and visitors alike. Park the car at the visitor's center and get a map. You'll need it. And: it's free!

Have you got a day? Is the sun out? Key ingredients for a trip to Sunrise viewpoint of Mt. Rainier. Sunrise is at 6400 ft elevation, and the mountain is in your face, up close and personal at 14,410 ft! The ride to get there is gorgeous. You might, (should) stop at some of the wide spots to enjoy the vistas. Bring your camera. Make sure it's charged before you go. If you miss the turn off to Sunrise, like I did, just keep going to the top of Cayuse Pass before you head back. It's about another 20 minutes. As you round the corner and start down the back side, pull into the parking lot and admire a glacier-cut valley and the high peaks around you. The hills ARE alive at Mt. Rainier.

If you have ever visited the Alps, you'll will think you are in Switzerland again when you visit Hurricane Ridge. The view of the glacier-encrusted Olympic Mountains is fantastic from the Visitor Center. You can also look over the edge on the other side of the ridge and see the Salish Sea (once known as the Strait of Juan de Fuca) and Vancouver Island, Canada. The ridge is full of small wild deer and alpine meadows. It's a day trip to the Olympic Peninsula...a day that will rest in your collection of best memories.

This is a tiny National Park! It's free, but has a wealth of info about the Gold Rush to Alaska, and how it put Seattle on the map. Just up the street, you'll also find SAM, the Seattle Art Museum. Admission price varies, but very worthwhile. You could spend all day there.
