Our stay in Kyoto was definitely started off on a good note by the warm greeting from the host. They personally welcomed us into the home, gave us a full tour, and hosted us with great hospitality before leaving us to our stay. They were very communicative when we had questions and were able to be flexible with us in some areas as well. In addition to the house being lovely, I can say this is one of the best interactions I've had with a host on this platform before!

We had a wonderful stay at the Cozy Cottage. The house was very clean and spacious. For us, the best part was the location. It truly felt like we were locals living in the community where Cozy Cottage is located. All of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time, and the stay definitely made our time in Kyoto extra special. I would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a bit of a slower pace in Kyoto.

Our family of 7 had a truly wonderful stay at Kimi’s place in Kyoto. The house was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a memorable trip. Kimi and his wife were incredibly kind and thoughtful. They even surprised us with gifts, which made our stay even more special. When we accidentally left an item behind, Kimi graciously arranged to have it delivered to us, showing such care and hospitality. Throughout our stay, communication was easy, warm, and helpful. We could really feel the heart they put into hosting, and we are so grateful for the experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Kyoto. Thank you again, Kimi and Marilyn!

Shoji and his family were exceptional hosts. They were very accommodating with our stay as well as very kind and sweet. The location was less than a 10 minute walk from several markets, restaurants, and train stations. The area has endless history and culture to enjoy as well. I appreciate and highly recommend this peaceful and welcoming stay :)

We loved our stay at May’s apartment. It was even more spacious than the photos depicted, bright and impeccably clean. The apartment has plenty of storage space, huge closets with hangers, and shelving in the bathroom for all of your toiletries. After staying 5 nights in a tiny hotel room in Tokyo, it was so nice to actually unpack our suitcases, wash our clothes, and hang them up in a closet for a few days. May greeted us at check in and she was very responsive in communication both before and during our stay. The apartment is located within walking distance to Nishiki Market, Gion, the subway station, and many fabulous restaurants and shops. The apartment and its location were absolutely perfect and we would happily stay here again in the future. Thank you, May!

Asami and Daniel were great hosts. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time in Koyto. The apartment is in a great location in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to other parts of the city. I would highly recommend this place for anyone interested in visiting Kyoto.

Es war ein wesentliches Upgrade zu meinem AirBnB in Osaka. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Das einzige was mich gestört hat war dass der Boiler zu schwach eingestellt war und ich das nicht ändern konnte. Außerdem war die Glühbirne in der Küche kaputt. Die Lage war trotz Touristen sehr gut um ganz Kyoto zu besuchen.

Everything was fine. They were clear and responsive when you needed it. The place was nice and peaceful—a good location between the two main stations.

Supper nice family, did a yamato luggage forward service and our delivery came late. We notified the family and they were supper nice about the mishap and messaged me when it got there! Also the bath outside is a MUST

Ken had the best property in all the bnb’s I stayed in Japan He was very proactive on messages and even came to meet us when we checked in He was always available with all our queries The bnb had everything what any hotel has and more He’s very good in English as well so it was easy to communicate Easy and early check in , we got our bnb at 1 pm when usually it’s 3 pm in Japan He was OK with keeping our luggage even after check out Now the BNB is absolutely stunning , the photos don’t do it much justice The lake in the front is to die for The price ken is giving the bnb is worth every penny Stayed 3 nights wish to have stayed more Ken is a complete gentleman and a kind man Would love to stay here in the future and would recommend it to everyone with their eyes closed BEST BNB STAY EVER Thank you Ken

The Kyoto apartment was well positioned, close to several bus lines and only about a five minute walk from the river and many restaurants and bars. The washing machine was appreciated and it felt more down to earth to get the experience of a proper apartment while on our travels. The hosts were very communicative and made us feel well hosted.

Well located and comfortable stay. sakura was also very responsive and helpful with regard to requests. However, the walls are thin and we could hear the upstairs unit which can be mildly disruptive. Enjoyable stay overall.

Le logement était très propre et bien décoré. C'est le seul appartement du 5eme étage, c'est donc très calme. Depuis la fenêtre il est possible de voir le Kiyomizu Dera. L'emplacement est très bien. Il est possible d'aller à gion et Nishiki market à pied. Plein de bon restaurant à proximité et des boulangeries, il y a aussi un fresco ouvert 24/24 en plus du 7-eleven au coin de la rue. C'était très pratique de pouvoir stationner notre Toyota sienta devant l'immeuble.

The apartment was functional but also surprisingly homely and cosy - more than I imagined from the photos, also more spacious than I thought it would be, and even though it's in a central location, it was quiet at night. There's a small balcony with a washing machine and space to hang up laundry. The kitchen has everything you need. An extra bonus is having a small living room space to relax in, which a lot of these tiny japanese apartments don't have space for. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept well. The location is very convenient. Near to Kyoto Station and also within walking distance of many of the attractions of the city, as well as the main shopping area. For further away places, buses, trains and underground are easily accessible. This was a lovely, clean and comfortable apartment that I would recommend. It's perfect for a solo traveller as well because it's very secure.

The best place for exploring Kyoto - I would come back definitely

Ich hatte eine absolut perfekte Erfahrung in Mayas Wohnung in Kyoto! Der Check-in war unkompliziert und gut organisiert, die Kommunikation schnell und herzlich. Die Wohnung selbst war makellos sauber, gemütlich eingerichtet und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Die Lage war ideal – ruhig, aber dennoch zentral, mit guter Anbindung an öffentliche Verkehrsmittel. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das hervorragende Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Ich habe mich vom ersten Moment an wie zu Hause gefühlt. Vielen Dank, Maya – ich komme sehr gerne wieder!
