This is a small but delightful beach about 35 mins north of Napier - well worth a picnic and a swim in crystal clear waters on a golden sand beach. Surf life saving club is on the beach December- January. With many other bush walks close by such as White Pine Bush, Shine Falls and Waipatiki Beach walk through Native niku palms ( entrance on the left just next door to the first Bach on the left ) you can really make a day of it.

Waipatiki Beach is a picturesque settlement with native bush and a broad stretch of golden sand. The stunning white sand beach offers swimming, surfing, fishing, diving and has a fresh-water stream which is popular with younger children who are content to paddle. Small boats can be launched from beach, and the many coastal and bush walks are well worth exploring. To get there (about a 20min drive), drive out to State Highway 2 and head north (right). Turn off SH2 into Tangoio Road, then turn left into Waipatiki Road and follow that right through to the beach.
