The most beautiful example of the Romanesque church town. On the porch of the church, the famous "Mouth of Truth" (Also appearing in the movie "Roman Holiday" by Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn), a Roman man-shaped mound. Legend tells that the "Mouth of Truth" cut the liar's hand if it put it in there! They absolutely deserve the interior of the church!

Santa Maria in Cosmedin is a minor basilica built during the Middle Ages, renowned for "La Bocca della Verità" (Mouth of Truth), located on the north side of the church. Legend has it that if a person places his or her hand in the mouth of the statue and lies, the mouth will close and cut their hand off.

In the ancient Foro Boarium, this is a lovely medieval church which also houses the "mouth of truth." Nearby see the round Temple of Hercules Victor, the Temple of Portunus, and the Arch of Janus.
