Take a day trip down to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, stop along the way at Bodie Island lighthouse, see shipwrecks!

If you're up for a drive, or perhaps a beach without people, there's lots of sand and sea down the Island. Also a better place to find beach treasures!

This is the perfect way to view the Outer Banks as it was centuries ago, from Bodie Island, Coquina Beach, Oregon Inlet, Pea Island to Hatteras Island. Take in the natural beauty of the coast line along with stunning bird watching as well as a visit to the Historic Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton.

Great beaches with trails, lighthouse and museums. A great scenic drive. If you really want to make a day out of it, get up early and drive down to take the passenger or vehicle ferry to Ocracoke for the day!
