Dubai is famous for its gold souk. A feast for the eyes, if not the wallet ! Use the opportunity of your visit to combine with an abra ride across the Dubai Creek, it's a fast and very pleasant way to cross the water.

A great local market where you can find all kinds of cool items, gifts, local food treats and delicacies and of course good quality cheap gold! Also, you can take a cheap abra ride across Dubai creek from here which will also afford you great views of the city and old town as you ferry across.

Take a walk through the old gold souq. Follow your nose to the spice souq and wander down the narrow alleyways on the edge of the Creek. Take time to talk to the traders - it''s fascinating!
