Trains go on two directions: 1. Colombo capital of Sri Lanka. On this direction train stops in the main tourist places like Hikkaduwa, Unawatuna, Ahangama, Bentota and etc. From Colombo you can continue travelling to any point of island. 2. Matara - second biggest city in Sti Lanka

It is worth 45 minutes longer train to drive from weligama so you have enough space in the train. From Galle almost every seat is booked or occupied.

If you're ever looking for the train, Sri Lankan's usually say (and understand) "Railway Station" rather than "Train Station". :)
