Laugavegur is the main shopping street in central Reykjavík. Next to Laugavegur is Skólavörðustígur that is also a shopping street. From Laugarvegur comes Bankastræti and when you walk past Lækjargata you go down to Austurstræti. All these streets are full of restaurants and stores you might like. I can't think of any that I would not recommend.

The main shopping street, has been hit hard by tourism though in recent years. That doesn't necessary have to be negative if you want to buy souvenirs. Has nice coffee houses in the midst of it all. I recommend Te & kaffi and Kaffitár.

Laugavegur Street packs loads of different shops, restaurants, café´s and more. You´ll find local designers such as Spaksmannsspjarir, Kron Kron and Kiosk, Outdoor clothing stores such as 66 North, Geysir and Icewear, Concept stores, Shoe stores, jewellery stores and much more.
