Lovely harbour with plenty of shops, cafes, pubs and souvenirs. Boat trips available from the harbourside.

Mevagissey is a lovely fishing village 2 miles away. There are a lot of pubs, restaurants and shops. And of course the harbour to walk along. Grab an icecream and walk out along Rock quay. Note that it does get very busy in the summer and it is best to avoid driving through it at that time. There are a few ways to get there: Walking You can walk along the coast path, it is about 3 miles to Meva and you go past Chapel Point. Or you can walk along the lanes/over a field, which is about 2 miles. Either way, walk up Trewollock Lane, turn right at the top. After 50m there is a gate with a style off to the right, this leads down a track to the coast path. Or, keep going along the lane. When the lane joins another road there is a style 30m along that takes you into a field. You can cross the field to cut the corner. Driving Take the 'long way' past Heligan Gardens to get down to Mevagissey car park. This avoids Bell Hill which is narrow and notorious for jams in the summer.

You can't visit Mevagissey without eating fish and chips out of paper on the wooden benches over-looking the harbour - just be aware of the very brazen resident seagulls who won't think twice about swooping down and stealing a chip right out of your hand.... The village is home to gift shops, cafes, restaurants and a small aquarium. During the Summer season you can take a fishing trip around the bay where you may be lucky enough to spot dolphins, seals and other wildlife. Once you've visited all the shops you can take the coastal path around to Pentewan or the short boat trip across to Fowey.
