This theater boasts a history and a tradition of 140 years and through the Meiji, Taisho, Showa and Heisei Eras. It is supported by locals as a palace for Kabuki and newer forms of theater and continues to propel the theater culture of Japan. Even today this celebrated theater brings pleasure to the many people who enjoy the performances of Kabuki and period dramas, leaders in Enka (a traditional music genre) and popular performers. The only chance to experience the new dance pieces, one entitled “Hachigome (Eighth station of the mountain)” based on one of the symbols of Japanese beauty, Mt. Fuji (FUJIYAMA), and the like.

Perfect place if you're interested in Kabuki. The shows tend to be a bit pricy, but I hear it's one of the best venues to experience Kabuki. Good bento too, apparently.

'Meijiza' You have enjoyed as the theater which represents Tokyo. A performance system is different from other theaters and catches an interval for about 30 minutes (the break) twice.
