Specializing in science fiction, mystery, fantasy and horror, it is neat, clean and minimal inside with comfy couches and hardwood floors. It opened in 1997 and it’s constantly reinventing itself. In 2009 the owner added a cafe next door, which is a nice setup with good flow. They almost had to close, but the owner started an annual sponsorship and in three days they had enough subscribers to stay open—that tells you what a community it sustains. For the $100 membership, you get writing workshops, special author events, and other perks.
