King Fisher Beach is 30 min away. Port O'connor has great fishing and several restaurants!

AKA the Front Beach. Located on the edge of Matagorda Bay, this beach does not directly access the Gulf of Mexico. The large sandy beach offers nice place to cool off and the shallow water and absence of waves makes this a nice place to take the kids. POC Pier is located here and is a well know spot for fishing and crabbing. Try your luck at night under the lights for specs.

If you have little ones, you'll love this public beach. It has a more sandy beach and it's so shallow that you can almost walka mile and not be knee deep, making it perfect for the little one to enjoy splashing in the water and exploring without much risk. It also has an elevated fishing pier that create great shade underneath to just bring your chair and drinks while the kids play.

Spend the day at the beach. It’s shallow which makes a nice place to relax and let the kids play.
