A dormant volcano. The Haleakalā crater is a beautiful place to watch the sunrise. To gain entry between 3 and 7 am, guests must book ahead and reserve a parking stall. Please, consult the government recreation website. If you are prone to car sickness, please be advised to that the road has plenty of serpentine turns. Dress for cold weather! It sometimes snows up there!
