This is a wildlife park where you will attempt a long hike up the "Gello Mold" . It is definitely an advanced hike because of the constant climb to up to over 4000 ft. You will pass loose down, goats, Nenes, sheep, wild birds and a filed that is littered with obsidian crystals. Once on the top - on a clear day - you can see 5 Volcano tops: Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, Hualalai, Kohala, Hale Akala (Maui) The hike will take between 3-5 hours, be sure to check the local recommendations to gear and supplies (water, food). I recommend to attempt this hike early in the AM as the the noon time will every hot out there.

Great views and various cut-backs to chunk the hike to whatever you feel like. Almost always afternoon rain - beware!

Pu'u means hill in Hawiian. This park offers a loop hiking trail with dramatic forest and sea views around this pu'u also known as cupcake hill (due to the ruffled sides looking like a cupcake wrapper paper). A 27 minute drive from our property.

Good, moderate hiking to the top of the cinder cone. Amazing views of the ocean and Mauna Kea from the top.
