The "Carreiros do Monte" are one of the oldest traditions on the island. From Monte to Livramento, in the city of Funchal, you can enjoy a trip in a basket car (Carro de cesto). Prices vary depending on the number of people, ranging from €25 for one person, €30 for 2 people to €45 for 3 people. Children under 5 years old do not pay.
