Fascinating but rather grim museum. Very educational re the conditions in prisons going back to 1835.

555 King St W, Kingston, ON K7L 4V7 Across the street from the huge maximum prison. This museum is fun for families. A ton of really interesting artifacts. Contraband weapons and escape paraphernalia early punishment and restraint equipment, inmate hobby crafts show the lighter side of life in prison. Don't miss this one. It's free, a donation box is available. A gift shop is on site for cool stuff. If it is not too busy and the worker is nice they may let you into the cell to take photos.
